MISSING POSTAGE?

It's been a wild one here at the wedding headquarters. If your RSVP envelope was missing a stamp, we're terribly sorry. We'll make it up to you with some food and drink … and a wedding.

Cheers!

ABOUT WILLOW POINT

From the website (www.willowpointresort.com)

Willow Point sits on a 3 acre peninsula with large old oaks, cedars and willows. We have great sandy beaches, clear blue water and plenty of sunshine. Willow Point provides campfire areas with free firewood, free canoes, horseshoes and a water garden. You can swim on our natural, sandy beaches, and fish from the bank or from the free rowboat. You are welcome to bring your own boat and launch at the new free county ramp just 4 miles from us. Feel free to leave your boat anchored on the beach overnight … depending on the weather, of course … or park it in our overflow parking area designed for trailers, extra cars and boats.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

There’s plenty to do in the Highland Lakes of Texas. Pour yourself a little wine at a nearby vineyard, take a cruise on Lake Buchanan or simply sit back, relax, and even out that farmer’s tan.

GO THE SCENIC WAY

For guests coming from the Austin airport or larger Austin area, there are two equally direct ways to drive to Willow Point: U.S. Route 183 or Texas State Highway 71. We recommend the second option where you will experience the foothills of the Texas Hill Country. TX-71 will take you west from the airport. Stay on TX-71 for approximately 40 miles until you reach US-281 where you will turn right, due north. Take US-281 north until you reach the town of Burnet, where you will head west on Texas State Highway 29. Stay on TX-29 for approximately 15 miles until you reach County Road 261, also named Lakeshore Drive, and turn right. Willow Point Resort is located about a mile from the TX-29 CR-261 interchange on Ellison Road.

McPherson, KS

OK! Since we took almost no photos on the way back, we'll have to briefly summarize our return. We're almost there!

Night #4: Flaming Gorge Recreation Area in Wyoming. This is a very nice area of southern WYO actually considered high desert.

Night #5: Cheyenne, Wyoming. We reunited with our good friends Jan and Dave whom we camped with in Yellowstone National Park way back when. Thanks for putting up with us one more night. We really enjoyed seeing you again on our way home. The food was as always fantastic and the ride in the 72' Chevy was boss!

Night #6: Denver, CO. We dropped in for a night on our friends Abby and Andy in the mile high city. If you like beer, Denver may be the town for you. Actually, Denver reminded us of Houston quite a bit, minus the oppressive heat and humidity. Abby and Andy sent us off with some cool music and some of Andy's home-brewed pale ales. Andy, the stuff is great. You should do this full time.

Night #7: McPherson, KS. Pictured above is Claire's childhood home and probably the coolest house in central Kansas. We spent the night with Katie and her daughter Avery. Claire and Katie grew up together so they go way, way back.
